Fort Collins, Colorado Engagement | Lizzie & Preston

Marco and I have always loved Fort Collins. Marco spent many summers there growing up and I first fell in love with it back in 2013. So we were excited to shoot Preston’s and Lizzie’s engagement session in Fort Collins and in the mountains. As soon as we met them we knew we’d all be great friends…they are just that fun, energetic, and sweet. We are blessed with so many amazing couples this year!

Even though it was a chilly morning on the mountain, we loved getting to see a few of the gorgeous snow-covered parks outside Fort Collins. We can’t wait to be a part of Preston’s and Lizzie’s big day in Colorado Springs in July!

Boulder, Colorado Engagement | Alyssa & Jimmy

A beautiful Colorado engagement session in Boulder is the perfect way to spend a snowy afternoon! Marco and I met Alyssa and Jimmy in downtown Boulder and got a taste of the city, the neighborhoods, and of course, the mountains! Gorgeous Chautauqua Park is always idyllic, but especially when snow is falling. From a snowball fight to choosing the path less traveled, we had such a fun time with this amazing couple! Alyssa and Jimmy are both so sweet, kind, and welcoming. It’s very clear how absolutely in love (and adorable) they are! Marco and I can’t wait to be a part of their big day in April in Palmer Lake, Colorado.

Evergreen, Colorado | Lauren & Michael Engagement

Marco and I love Colorado engagement sessions! As we are now working in both Florida and Colorado, it means we get to travel all over these two great states, meeting lots of great couples. Lauren and Michael live outside of Denver and are getting married this July! Lauren told me that she wanted their engagement session to capture two things they love: books and mountains. We met at Bean Fosters in Evergreen and made our way to Elk Meadow Park. Marco and I LOVE engagement sessions for many reasons -- one reason is that it gives us a chance to get to know the couple better and work together before the wedding day. We had such a great time getting to know Lauren and Michael and also got the low-down from them about all the best restaurants nearby. We can't wait to be a part of their wedding this summer. Enjoy this peak into their engagement session!

Winter Park Engagement | Geraldine & Gilbert

I first met GeeGee and Gilbert through our mutual friends and one of our wonderful 2015 couples, Kara & Jared. From the moment I met this great pair it was clear how incredibly sweet and full of life GeeGee is and how welcoming and friendly Gilbert is. One of the things I love doing with my couples is hearing the story of how they met and also how they got engaged! Gilbert and GeeGee’s engagement story is so sweet and takes place in one of my favorite parks — Kraft Azalea. Gilbert planned a special picnic on the day he popped the question. Because of this, we knew we had to go back to Kraft Azalea for their engagement session! Enjoy this peak into our fun day in the park. Marco and I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding later this month!

October Oaks Wedding | Johnny & Allie

It’s not every day I get to work with a couple who have been together since high school! Being high school sweethearts is a special part of Allie’s and Johnny’s story, and they are about as sweet as it gets. When we first met to talk about their wedding, I could tell right away how excited they were to become husband and wife.

The morning of their wedding was a bit brisk for a Florida day, but the bridesmaids bundled up in cozy blankets accordingly. Their ceremony and reception all took place at the newly-opened October Oaks in Webster, Florida. I absolutely love this venue! Not only is it gorgeous and very versatile, but it’s owned by a wonderful family that welcomed all of us with love. Allie began her morning with reading a note from Johnny. Allie and Johnny both come from large families - - similar to Marco! This means there are a lot of sisters (and a good amount of brothers) between the two families. It was so fun to learn how each bridesmaid was connected to Allie — from sisters, to sisters-in-law, to (soon-to-be) sisters-in-law, to friends from grade school. It’s so clear how much support Allie and Johnny have around them.

One thing that I specifically loved about their wedding was how they arranged for Johnny to first see Allie. Allie and Johnny didn’t plan a first look but had something else they wanted to do. When it was time for Allie to walk from the bridal suite to the ceremony, Johnny was turned around and two large doors were placed at the end of the aisle. When the doors opened, Johnny saw her and her dad right at the end of the aisle. His reaction to seeing his bride at last was incredible and made everyone tear up. His love and adoration for Allie was so apparent and so special to get to watch.

Their guests danced the night away under romantic market lighting and sent Allie & Johnny off with a sparkler exit. Marco and I loved getting to be a part of their wedding! Allie and Johnny, we wish you every happiness and are so excited for you both to begin this new adventure as husband and wife. Congratulations!
